How is QR678® different from Medical Treatments for hair loss?
Currently, the medical treatment available for hair loss include 2 drugs- Minoxidil and Finasteride.
MINOXIDIL:
Minoxidil is the most commonly used treatment for hair loss. It can be used as a topical solution or as oral tablets. Minoxidil is a vasodilator that improves the blood flow to the follicles, ensuring that they receive an adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients for optimal growth. Secondly, minoxidil may prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle, thus allowing hair to grow for a longer period and potentially leading to thicker, more robust hair. Although minoxidil can be effective for many individuals, it should be used consistently as results are generally not permanent, and discontinuation of treatment can lead to a gradual loss of any hair growth achieved.
FINASTERIDE:
Finasteride is an oral medication used to treat androgenetic alopecia, the most common type of hair loss. It operates by addressing the hormonal factors contributing to hair loss. Specifically, finasteride inhibits the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that can shrink hair follicles and lead to hair thinning and miniaturization. By reducing DHT levels in the scalp, finasteride helps to slow down or even reverse hair loss. The effects of finasteride are not immediate and require consistent, long-term use. Finasteride may gradually improve hair regrowth but comes with potential sexual side effects, requires ongoing use for maintenance, and has unknown long-term safety.
OVER-THE-COUNTER PRODUCTS:
A number of OTC products claiming to treat hair loss have surfaced in recent years. They are available as topical serums, lotions and shampoos with ingredients such as Capixyl, Redensyl, Procapil and Anagain. These products claim to target the main causes of hair loss, such as poor blood circulation and inflammation, with the goal of improving hair density and preventing hair loss. However, the effectiveness of these ingredients can vary from person to person, and individual results may depend on factors like the cause of hair loss, genetics, and other environmental or lifestyle factors.
What is QR678®?
The QR678 research & development platform technology is a proprietary first-in-class technology. This science backed technology is giving rise to multiple products that arrest hair fall and address the thickness, density of hair follicles leading to greater coverage in hair loss. This R&D technology deals with multiple human hair growth related growth factors that are naturally present in our scalp making products derived from these completely natural. Research on this platform technology has resulted in this being awarded USA & Indian patents and has led to over 13+ clinical research papers being published with products derived from this unique technology. The hair growth factors penetrate deep into the scalp and provide nourishment to the scale. Unlike other treatments that contains harmful medication, products derived from QR678 are almost completely devoid of side effects.
Minoxidil and Finasteride are currently the most accepted drugs in the treatment of alopecia. A study was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of QR678 when used as a monotherapy and as a combination therapy with topical 5% Minoxidil and 1mg oral Finasteride.
Comparison of QR678® as monotherapy and as combination therapy with 5% Minoxidil solution and oral Finasteride in the treatment of male androgenetic alopecia—Which is better?
Objective: To compare the efficacy of QR678® alone QR678® in combination with topical Minoxidil and oral Finasteride for the treatment of male AGA.
Method: A prospective clinical study including 50 male patients with AGA grade II-IV in the age group of 50-60 years. Divided into two groups:
Group A – QR678® alone
Group B – QR678® along with 5% Minoxidil topical solution and 1 mg Finasteride tablet
1mL of QR678 Neo solution administered per session for a total of 8 sessions, each spaced 3 weeks apart.
